Bullyparade - Der Film

Tony had the pleasure to work on a comedy film from Michael "Bully" Herbig called "Bullyparade - Der Film" where Tony was responsible for two sequences. The first one was a 1 minute long transition shot from the earth to another planet that had influence and was a parody of Baywatch and Star Trek and the other one was a ice planet environment that was a parody of Star Wars - The Force Awakens.

1 minute space shot

From the earth to another galaxy

The transition shot from earth into the space was the longest shot in movie with a bit over 1 minute. Started from a classic 2D Matte Painting of the city skyline does it transform into a 2.5D matte painting of the space nebulars and the destroyed ice planet. The last part is the big planet that is a hybrid of a 3D planet with a 2.5D projected cloud projection. The whole shot was created with a software combination of photoshop, 3DsMax and Nuke.

Ice planet evironment

A 2.5D and 3D ice environment sequence

The ice landscape was created in photoshop with a combination of a 2.5D projection setup in nuke, 3DsMax and zBrush. The landscape itself was splitted into 3 parts. Part 1 is the area with the faced in the ice mountain, the faces are photogrammetry assets of the actor, the 3D asset got polished in zBrush and afterwards overpainted in photoshop. The last step of part 1 was the projection setup in nuke where Tony combined the 3D asset with the photoshop overpainting. Part 2 was the side view of the shot which was an extension of the part 2 matte painting. Last part was the main view that are started as a 2D matte painting and got afterwards projected on simple 3D geo in nuke. The foreground 3D elements are created by a colleaque from the 3D Department.
